Blossom HR is recruiting a mid-level Insurance Defense / Personal Injury Litigation Associate for a well-established Houston litigation defense firm. This is a hybrid role: full-time in the Houston office for the first six months, then eligible to work from home two days per week.

You will independently manage a docket of high-exposure defense matters, including catastrophic personal injury, product liability and construction defect cases with $1M+ policy limits, for insurance carriers, oil and gas companies, big box retailers and Fortune 500 clients across Texas state and federal courts. The firm offers a documented partnership track, strong paralegal support and a collegial, open-door culture.

What you will do

  • Independently manage a docket of catastrophic personal injury, product liability and construction defect defense cases
  • Take and defend fact witness, expert and corporate representative depositions
  • Draft and respond to motions and discovery with a strategic, aggressive defense posture
  • Present oral arguments at hearings in Texas state and federal courts
  • Work with a dedicated paralegal (2:1 attorney-to-paralegal ratio) to build solid defenses at reasonable expense
  • Keep disciplined, timely time entries and meet a 154-hour monthly billing minimum
  • Advance along a written career track: Associate, Non-Equity Shareholder, Shareholder

Compensation and benefits

  • $115,000 to $175,000 base, calibrated to experience and trial capability
  • Quarterly tier bonus of 10 to 15%+ of quarterly salary based on billable hours, plus a $2,400/year time-entry bonus
  • 401(k) with 3% employer match, fully vested from day one
  • Up to $600/month toward health insurance; firm-paid short- and long-term disability and life insurance
  • Free secured parking and catered lunch every other Friday

Schedule and location

Full-time, hybrid in Houston, TX: in the office full-time for the first six months, then two days per week from home (subject to performance and billing compliance).
