Blossom HR is recruiting an Insurance Coverage Attorney for a well-established San Francisco boutique that represents policyholders in insurance coverage and bad faith disputes throughout California. This is an on-site role, in the office five days per week, with flexibility for personal appointments.

You will have real independence from day one, owning your own matters and client relationships and advising sophisticated corporate and Bay Area technology clients on cyber, D&O, E&O and other commercial coverage issues. Insurance coverage experience is a plus but not required: strong general civil litigators are welcome. The firm offers a partnership track at six to eight years with no book-of-business requirement, and a sustainable workload of about 100 billable hours per month.

What you will do

  • Analyze and interpret commercial insurance policies, including GL, D&O, E&O, cyber and property
  • Develop coverage strategy, tender decisions and policy procurement advice for clients
  • Manage matters from intake to resolution, including coverage opinions, reservation-of-rights responses and demand letters
  • Litigate coverage disputes in California state and federal courts, including depositions, motions and court filings
  • Build and manage direct relationships with sophisticated corporate clients

Compensation and benefits

  • $160,000 to $200,000 base, plus a discretionary bonus
  • Signing bonus available to offset a forfeited year-end bonus
  • Commuter benefit
  • Partnership track at six to eight years, with profit sharing for partners

Schedule and location

Full-time, on-site in San Francisco, CA, five days per week.

Hiring process

After an initial conversation with Blossom HR, qualified candidates have a 30-60 minute interview with two partners, followed by an office walkthrough and a partner decision. A resume and writing sample are required before the first interview.
